HUTCHINSON, KS: 15 May 2013 --- NJCAA Division I Men’s Basketball is comprised of 16 Districts, with each winner advancing to the National Tournament in Hutchinson.   Eight additional teams will qualify for the tournament along with the 16 District Champions.   The 24 team national tournament will consist of 16 District Champions, 4 ‘zone’ qualifiers, and 4 at-large selections.   Each District will determine and communicate the method of choosing their ‘zone-qualifier’ in writing to the NJCAA on or before December 1st.   In 2014 the 4 ‘zone’ teams will come from Districts 4,5,12, and 13.   The 4 ‘at-large’ teams are selected by the NJCAA Division I Men’s Basketball at-large selection committee.   The tournament is a single-elimination bracket with the only consolation contest taking place on Saturday evening (3rd place) prior to the national championship game.   All teams are seeded in the bracket at the direction of the NJCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Committee, with the top 8 seeds receiving first-round byes.
